Otherside is a cocktail bar and event space in Marfa, Texas.
When we purchased the building in 2021, our focus was to establish glitch gallery – the storefront facing E El Paso St. However, the building's potential extended beyond just the gallery. It encompassed an impressive commercial kitchen, a residence, and a charming courtyard tucked away at the back. Keen to harness these spaces for community benefit, we initiated a separate identity for this concept, christened 'Otherside.'
Fully remodeled in 2025, this space is a flexible venue that has at various times hosted a classy speakeasy, a wood-fired pizza restaurant, serene tea ceremonies, art exhibitions, five-course dinners, and wedding receptions.
Indoors, the space can accommodate up to 30 people seated or 75 people standing. It's designed for comfort and aesthetic appeal, typically furnished with an eclectic mix of leather couches, equipale chairs, and bar seating. Alternatively, it can be transformed into an elegant dining venue with banquet tables and tablecloths. Accentuating the space is 'Latido de Luz,' an eye-catching piece by Miguel Valverde.
Outdoors, the back courtyard comfortably accommodates up to 16 people seated. A permanent shade sail offers a respite from the summer heat and patio heaters make the cool desert nights more comfortable.
